CIAO!
We know you’re going to seize this opportunity to explore the best that Italy—and dare we say, Europe—has to offer! Here’s a potential itinerary with plenty of flexibility for you to tailor an unforgettable trip.
-
Fly into Rome
For those who have never been, Rome is a must. In this itinerary we recommend visiting Florence and Venice. For your booking information, we're hoping to host a welcome dinner on the 22nd and the wedding ceremony and reception is scheduled for 10.23--You'll need at least 36 hours for recovery, so book accordingly.
-
Drive to Val d'Orcia
The train in to Rome is easy, but there's also a private car hire we've linked on the travel page. There's plenty of things to see in Rome, our favorite hidden gem is the Knights of Malta Keyhole. When you visit the colosseum make sure to buy the additional pass for the roman forum- Kerry's favorite. Apple Maps works great in Italy, it should be easy navigate anywhere you want to go, Rome is surprisingly walkable, there's nothing like getting a little lost in those hallowed streets.
-
Drive to Buonconvento
Once you have your fill of Rome and the amazing Carciofi Alla Romana head to a car rental agency to pick up a your rental. We recommend setting your pick up location outside of the city center, navigating Rome can be a bit tricky. Once you have your car head towards Val d'Orcia. Buonconvento, Montalcino, and Pienza are a few of the gorgeous medieval towns located near the wedding Reception Venue. We recommend staying as close to Buonconvento as possible. There are no shortage of day trips, and wine tasting to plan before or after the wedding events depending on your schedule.
-
Drive to Casali di Bibbiano for the Wedding Events
On the day of the wedding we'll provide transportation from Casali di Bibbiano to the wedding ceremony and back. So you'll just need to arrive at Casali Di Bibbiano by 2:30.
-
Head to Florence
After you've enjoyed the Tuscan countryside—or if it's time to head back to work—return your rental car at Amerigo Vespucci Airport.
For those continuing their journey, take the convenient T2 tram or an Uber from the airport into the city center. Florence is best explored on foot, allowing you to fully appreciate its charm. However, if you decide to drive, be mindful of "ZTL" zones—restricted areas around historic sites that only permit certain vehicles, such as those of residents and emergency services.
We recommend spending a couple of days in Florence, immersing yourself in the city's rich art, culture, and history. Visit iconic landmarks such as the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and Ponte Vecchio, and savor the local culinary delights.
-
Take the Train to Venice
After you've taken in the beauty of Florence (don't forget the wine windows), jump on a quick train to Venice. There’s no better way to make the journey between Italy’s two most beautiful cities. The distance from Florence's Santa Maria Novella station to Venice is 160 miles; some high-speed trains make this journey in just 2 hours and 5 minutes. Explore Venice
We’ve saved Venezia for last because it’s a true showstopper, with cinematic landscapes at every turn. Upon arriving at Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia, you can take a water taxi to your accommodations, making for a magical, film-like entrance. Venice dazzles with its canals, historic buildings, and charming bridges. As you explore the narrow alleys, cross the Rialto Bridge, or enjoy a gondola ride, you’ll feel like you’re in a movie scene. Take the time to savor the atmosphere and capture those stunning views!

Fly....Home?
If this is where your adventure ends, it's easiest to book a water taxi to the airport, it may be a bit expensive, but we're betting after taking in the best of what Italy has to offer you'll appreciate the private transfer. When you get to the airport you could definitely fly home... but it's 47$ for a flight to Barcelona (or about 110$ on AirItalia) For a flight back to the west coast one way it's about 500$.
